Directional active sampling

High-volume Directional Samplers for active air sampling were only used at the sampling sites Grünbach (AT-GR) and Košetice (PK).

Four sectors impacting the particular sampling site the most frequently were defined. The first two sectors comprise regional transport (short distance transport) with a 24-hour trajectory shorter than 150 km; this is shown by small arrow in maps. The two other sectors represent the long distance transport, with 24 hours trajectories longer than 150 km – depicted by large arrows in maps. The sampling was carried out in four back to back three month long periods. The first sampling started in September 2011 and the last finished in August 2012.

The individual sampling periods are provided in following table:

Interval
1 14.9. - 7.11.2011
2 7.11.2011 - 29.2.2012
3 29.2. - 23.5.2012
4 23.5. - 15.8.2012
